Idk my family is like against Apple or something but personally, I prefer the iPhone over the Galaxy. Here, I’m comparing the Samsung Galaxy S/S2 and the iPhone 4/4S. My criteria are based on the following:
- Appearance
- Functionality
- Speed
- Applications
- Battery life
- Reception
Appearance
For me, the Galaxy S (NOT the S2) has the edge here. It has a really sleek design and the slight curvature makes the phone fit really nicely into the hand. The S2 is too square and even though it’s only slightly bigger screen-wise, if you hold it, you’ll notice a fair difference in size. The iPhone 4/4S is alright but personally, I’m not a huge fan of the squared/sharp edges, if you get what I mean.
Functionality
Apple leads here. iOS is designed for even the most technology-illiterate person to be able to use a phone. It works. It’s simple and it’s very easy to use. The Android system is a little harder to use. It’s really easy to get used to but I do prefer the apple system, now that iOS5 includes the slide-down notifications which is p-p-p-perfect.
Speed
I don’t think there’s much of a comparison. The Galaxy S freezes every freaking 2 seconds and overheats when it starts to freeze. Charming. Although the S2 is much, much faster, I don’t think it compares to the speed of the 4, and doesn’t come near that of the 4S.
Applications
THE APPLICATIONS ON ANDROID ARE KIND OF DODGY. Like, I’m supposed to get Faceyb notifications on my notification bar with Android, but for some reason they’ve just stopped. Idk. The Tumblr app is kind of behind as well… and idk the flash memory just seems to speed the Apple apps a lot more than the Android system.
Battery life
Hands down, Apple wins. I’ll spend maybe 2 hours on my phone unlocking it maybe once every 10 minutes and the battery will be about 50% gone (I KID YOU NOT). Zzzzzz the battery life is so bad D:
Reception
I’m not sure about what the S2 is like regarding reception, but the reception of the Galaxy S isn’t great. It drops out a lot and I have to restart my phone pretty often as well… which kind of sucks.
Overall, they’re all good phones and in the end, they all do what a phone is supposed to do! Just a little bit more into the nitty gritty of it. I actually really like my Galaxy S, but I’m going to wait until the S3 comes out before I decide whether I’ll stick to Samsung or join the dark side and move over to Apple, and unite the rest of my Apple products LOL
